Race Descriptions
Past, present and future Spirit Runners unite! Celebrate the 27th running
of Newport's favorite family race and keep the healthy *spirit* alive for
future generations.
YOUTH 5K (Pre-highschoolers 14 and Under)
Parents/Guardians of Youth in the Youth 5K race may register for the adult
5K and run in the Youth 5K but must start in the back of the pack and are
not eligible for any awards. No other adults may register or run in the Youth
5K.
5K ADULT RUN, STROLLER RUN & FAMILY WALK
This is an opportunity for the whole family to race together! Competitive
runners will start at the front, while strollers & walkers will remain
towards the back. Sign up your entire family & make fitness fun!
10K ADULT RUN (no walkers)
CHILDREN'S RACES (7 total) for ages 4-12 ranging from 1/4 to 1 mile
ADULT 15K
Participants run Adult 10K and Adult 5K races. Both times will be combined
and ranked.

**NEW** - TWICE THE FUN EVENT FOR CHILDREN
Participate in the Spirit Run & the Frank E. Anderson
Memorial Newport Beach Elementary Track Meet. Entry only open to children
born between 1995-2003.
Events: Single Spirit Run Race or Spirit Run Youth
Combo & Newport Beach Track Meet Newport Beach Track Meet (Friday, 4/16/2010)
- 3 events to include 2 running and 1 field or 2 field and 1 running (no
one may register for 3 running or for 3 field events).
Twice the Fun - Newport Beach Track Meet Events
Newport Beach Track Meet event options depend on the year of birth. The following
are the events for various age categories:

1997-1995 - 100m dash, 200m run, 400m run, 1600m run,
softball throw, long jump, high jump, shot put

2000-1998 - 100m dash, 200m run, 400m run, 800m run, softball
throw, long jump 2001-2002 - 50m dash, 100m dash, 200m run, 400m run, softball
throw, long jump
-
2003 - 50m dash, 100m dash, 200m run, softball throw,
long jump.
